Sunshine Sisters Bag Class

Are you ready to create the Sunshine Sisters Handbag? This information is to help make sure you have everything you need to get stitching on this tote.

First, determine the size you would like to make and gather the fabric and supplies as listed on the back of the pattern. Quilt the main fabric and the lining with Soft and Stable. Cut your quilted pieces according to the directions on page 2. There are separate diagrams for each of the sizes.

Second, cut your accent fabric and supplies according to the chart on page 1. In the class we will be using our accent fabric to cover the handles, but feel free to use decorative webbing if you prefer.

Third, Cut and prep the bias binding as per the instructions on the bottom of page 2 in the pattern. We have made a short video that may help you understand the directions.

Finally, here are the supplies needed for class:

• Sewing machine (don’t forget plug and pedal)

• Basic sewing supplies (thread, scissors, rotary cutter, extra machine needles, etc)

• Sewing clips are especially useful for this project

• Fabric marking pen/chalk

• Ruler

• Large safety pin or bodkin to pull strapping through the handle tubes

• A stylus is very handy in the making of this bag, but not required

• ByAnnie double sided tape is very handy in making this bag, but not required

Nice to have but will be available for class use

• Small iron and ironing surface

• Cutting mat

• Circle ruler (2.5”)

• Tube Turner

We are looking forward to a delightful day of sewing! See ya soon!
